SPX is a non-tradeable index. You cannot buy or sell SPX.hello,
Without editing any of the strategies for this paper trade, i have different AT NOW figures... how come?

also, any reason why i see the below pop up with SPX? not sure why it says SPX is not tradeable. thanks
The software is asking you want to add a future in case you need it for your strategy, maybe later in time.
At Now: Go back to General and then to Comparison. Maybe 1 tick changed meanwhile switching between windows..se corri dietro a due lepri, non ne prendi nemmeno una. -
Thanks.. thats odd with SPX. Its definitely tradeable with options and cash settled.. or maybe i should be looking for a different symbol. i dont see SPXW either so not sure why this index isnt showing up. i use IBKR.SPX is a non-tradeable index. You cannot buy or sell SPX.

Hello,
you selected the SPX Index as underlying symbol for your strategy. You cannot Buy 1 SPX Index, but you can Buy 1 SPX Future.
Options are quoted on the Index, thus you selected the right symbol for options strategies.
In case you need to negotiate the SPX, not it\'s options, you must use an SPX future, and that is exactly what beeTrader is asking you.

exact but not only: imagine that a trader has programmed beeTrader to hedge an option using an Index. beeTrader executes the instructions but hedging will not be performed...se corri dietro a due lepri, non ne prendi nemmeno una.Comment

thats true, very good point.. thanks for sharing ... on hedging i have a question...
so lets say i have a debit spread on that goes against me slightly, can the hedging feature show me different ways of reducing my risk as much as possible but staying in the trade ( using options only), instead of just closing it for a loss ?Comment

yes, you can decide to hedge the spread using related ETFs for example. beeTrader will calculate when and how many to use. The topic is complex but it is possible. Also using options.thats true, very good point.. thanks for sharing ... on hedging i have a question...

sounds good.. i\'m inteested in scenarios where, say in my call debit spread i can use calls or puts to hedge the trade if its going against me .. prefer this to using ETFs and [i may even be simplerComment
